Hi Halo fam! 👋 Anna here, and I’m so excited to welcome you to our next chapter. Today we’re announcing our new name, 3am Society, and our new platform 3amsociety.com!
A lot can happen in 8 months: babies become toddlers, babbles turn into bossy demands, and yes, a whole new platform can be born. 🍼🚀
First of all, I want to say a huge THANK YOU!!! to all of our supporters. Some of you have been receiving our texts for years, and we’ve become friends along the way. Thanks for sticking with us and being on this journey.

What’s in a name
I first reserved the domain name 3amsociety.com in late summer 2022, appropriately at 2:38am. At the time, I was sitting in the near-darkness of our nursery, nursing my three week old daughter. It’s a scene I’m sure many of you have lived through hundreds or thousands of time - maybe even as you read this.
On the surface, it may seem lonely - sitting there, learning for the first time, with all the postpartum emotions. But I was not alone. I would spend these long hours furiously messaging with my mom community (you know who you are!! ❤️). I was lucky enough to have a bunch of mom friends going through this at the very same time as me, sharing tips, funny stories, and guiding each other through the hard times. They were — and still are — my 3am Society.
We’re changing our name to 3am Society to celebrate the bonds that bring us together as parents. Parenting is this all-in, super intense journey that’s both incredibly hard and incredibly rewarding. Having this community of people to share it with is invaluable and makes it even more sweet.
Your membership in the 3am Society doesn’t stop when your baby starts sleeping through the night. As parents, we’re always there for our children — whether we’re hugging a sick toddler in our arms, or fielding late-night phone calls from our kids off at college.
We’re here for you — at 3am and always! ❤️

Behind the scenes
Last year brought many transitions for our little company, the most important of which is that we made a big shift—from raising outside funding to bootstrapping and building more sustainably.
Those of you in the startup world know what a wild pivot that is, and if you’re curious I’ll probably share more learnings and reflections in my personal Substack in the future.
Let me say this loud and clear:
This doesn’t change our core mission, our vision, or the value we hope to provide to you, our parent community.
What it does change is the resources we have at our disposal. Things may move a bit more slowly, but will still move with intention. This company is a labor of love, and everyone knows moms have the resilience and grit to get the job done!

My personal mission, and Halo’s mission, is to lighten your invisible load by helping you discover the right products, save money, and have more fun along the parenting journey.
The big changes
No more SMS; hello Substack!
You know what’s super expensive? SMS. You know what we don’t have a lot of? Money 🤑
As you read this, we are shutting down our SMS servers and from here on out you’ll hear about drops via email (aka this Substack newsletter).
All jokes about cost aside, there are a million reasons why this will be better. Here’s the top two:
You should actually receive it! SMS deliverability is a constant battle - many of you will remember reaching out directly to us when messages were blocked inexplicably by AT&T or Verizon in the past.
Built-in community chat. We’ve heard that you love feeling like you’re a part of something special, but you wish you could see & talk to the other members. Building chat has been on the backburner for so long because of limited resources — with Substack, we get it for free! I’ll be pointing to our Substack chat more and more often so dive in and send some messages.
New price comparison tool + no checkout (for now)
Part of reinventing ourselves means we can no 👏 longer 👏 do 👏 things that don’t scale. As Halo grew, behind the scenes we were running ourselves ragged ensuring your orders got fulfilled by our brand partners.
That’s why we’re rebuilding our backend integrations to handle more volume, more efficiently.
For now, when you see an amazing product on 3am Society, you’ll be able to compare prices across different sites and link out to buy it directly from the merchant.
In the future, you’ll be able to buy directly on our platform, as you were with Halo.
We will still find you the best deal, every time, and make sure to highlight when important products come on sale so you can stock up.

As always, our product recommendations are always unbiased, vetted by experts, and come directly from real parents like you.
We continue to work with our partner brands for exclusive discounts. Right now, those will be shared with you in the form of a discount code. In the future, you’ll be able to checkout directly on 3amsociety.com for even greater savings (just like you did on Halo).
