3am Society Updates

Hope everyone had a Happy Fourth! We spent ours relishing our toddler’s enjoyment of the beach and catching up with loved ones.

You may have noticed there were no drops during the past 2 weekends. For the first time in 5 years, I took a true vacation!! Out of office responder and everything. 😎

When you’re a founder, you’re never actually on vacation. You’re still glued to your email because the show must go on, and the proverbial buck stops with you. When we did the same trip to the beach last year, I was on my laptop late into the night and early early in the mornings getting the drops out and making sure everyone’s orders were fulfilled.

But as many of you know, in order to keep 3am (formerly Halo) alive, I took on a full-time job and restructured the company to be bootstrapped, lean, and run on a shoestring budget of time and resources. This entire transition required a deep conversation with myself, and the acceptance of a new reality for 3am. (I alluded to this in our first email when I said that things wouldn’t be perfect, and that’s okay.) Part of that reality is that it’s essential to take a break every now and then!

The great thing about taking a break is that now I’m back, feeling refreshed and renewed in my excitement about what’s to come.
